Timeline for Ten Days Until Forever

I got an email from Heidi Doxey, who has been assigned as my editor for Ten Days Until Forever. The illustrations for the book should be done by the beginning of October. This is the rest of the approximate timeline:

October 18: Layout will be complete and a second round of editing will begin.
October 25: I get a proof of the book to look over before it goes to the press.
November 2: I send any corrections.
November 5: The book goes to the press.
March 1 (approximately): The book comes back from the press.
March 8: The book will be in stores.

The Search Continues!

We are looking for the most incredible illustrator ever to illustrate 10 Days Until Forever.  The search continues high and low for this lucky, enthusiastic, talented individual (Cedar Fort is actually searching - I'm just helping by trying to recruit up-and-coming BYU students).  May the most talented (and passionate - that's my dream) illustrator win!

Press Release

10 Days Until Forever is a children's picture book by David Peterson that speaks volumes about the importance of building families and communities.  The pages follow a little adopted boy as he counts down the days until "forever."  Each day, the members of his family and community show their love to him in their own individual ways, whether through buying him new clothes or simply telling him stories.  With their combined efforts they prove that unified communities really can overcome their differences to accomplish what is truly amazing - but you'll have to read the book to learn the ending... and to know what happens when it is finally time for "forever."  Release date pending 2009 - published by Cedar Fort, Inc.
